Sad News from Joe Ninety

It was a sad day indeed when this e-mail arrived at BOMBED OUT HQ:
"After 6 and a half years, we are finally calling it a day. Andrew and Lee will continue playing in The Dauntless Elite with current members of Fig. 4.0 and Steve, Lee and Rob may continue as a band under a different name. The split is amicable, just felt like we'd ground to a halt in loads of ways. We will still be playing two remaining gigs, the all-dayer in Stoke on the 6th of December and the two day BOMBED OUT RECORDS gig in January. Cheers to everyone who has helped us over the last 6 or so years. Andrew, Lee, Rob and Steve."
We at the label are gutted by this news, though we understand and support the band's reasons for the split. Our first release was also the first Joe Ninety release (then just Joe 90) and the label has grown along with the band over the last 6 years. They were all already great friends - well, OK, in Andrew's case family - before the collaborations and will continue to be from here on out. We love those guys.
We wish Lee and Andrew all the best with The Dauntless Elite (who are great by the way!) and we're sure Steve and Rob won't be kept down for long.
As mentioned, Joe Ninety's final gig should be at our annual all-dayer in January, the details of which will be coming along soon. There is also talk of a last 7" that could be out for the event - it'll feature the last 3 or 4 unreleased Joe Ninety songs, including the fantastic "Cold Light of Day", and generally tie up any loose ends. Also the band feel they'd like to go out the same way they started.
Still, a sad day indeed...
