Bombed Out and artist news
Posted: 6th October 2014
Currently on tour with Andrew Jackson Jihad across Europe and soon to head to Fest in Florida, Bristol's finest present a new record.
Titled "Leaving", the record is alas not coming out on Bombed Out this time but it would be remiss of me not to mention it. Early indications (i.e. the couple of songs I've heard so far from it) suggest it's another great release and an essential follow-up to 2013's Betterment album.
Head on over to the Yo-Yo Records or Specialist Subject sites now to order your copy. We wish Lou and Minty all the best for the future and I'll aim to keep their gig listings up to date going forward anyway.

The sophomore album from Bristol's Caves is out now
Well, the CDs came back from press exactly as we'd hoped and the pre-orders have been posted so I guess Betterment is officially "out".
We'll be in touch with our favourite record shops this week in order to twist their arms about stocking copies (we don't anticipate much twisting to be required if we're honest) so look out for updates on our Facebook or Twitter pages as and when.
In the meantime you can obviously order the CD direct from ourselves or head to our Bandcamp page for a digital download version. Hopefully we'll get some LP copies into our distro soon along with some older Caves releases.
If you'd rather buy direct from the band their extensive tour schedule for later in the year is now on the gigs page.
Here's what some other people are now saying about Betterment:
"... they had me hooked from the moment the riff starts ringing on the opener and singer Louise Hanman yells the opening line of "I don't care, I don't care, go fuck yourself". The familiar urgency is there from that moment and it rides on the crest of a wave throughout bursting with energy." - Collective Zine
"An essential UK punk rock listen, and one you’d be silly to miss out on." - Punktastic
"With the whole album lasting 26 minutes start to finish, it has a youthful energy and vibrancy you would expect from a band on Leeds melodic hardcore label Bombed Out. With no song over 3 minutes this is breezy, upbeat pop-punk with no room for indulgence or pointless guitar noodling." - Louder Than War

Sophomore album out soon with Euro-tour to follow
So, this kind of came out of the blue. We've known and liked the Bristol based punk-trio Caves for years (they played NYNS in 2011 and 2012) and earlier this year Dave got in touch to see whether we'd be interested in doing the CD and digital release of their next album (Yo-Yo Records are once again releasing the vinyl). We said yes... Tentatively.
Well, the tentativeness went out the window the second Betterment landed. This is by far the best thing the band have recorded. The production (a sterling job by Peter Miles) now gives all the songs the same urgency the band seem able to conjure up time and time again live and, thanks largely to the fact that it was recorded near-live, the band's energy completely remains intact.
More news as we get closer to release and a full Caves bio/gig dates will be added the site shortly - and, Jesus, there are a lot of them!
Anyway, as a taster of what's to come here are two brand new tracks from the album. "Rubino" especially had me grinning from ear to ear on first listen so please enjoy.
Welcome aboard Caves!
